Young Engineering manufactures a full line of pulsation dampeners - Suction, Discharge and Liquid Pulsation Dampener (LPD) or Maintenance Free - designed to reduce cavitation, vibrations and noise within a pumping system. Young Engineering pulsation dampeners can be found protecting systems worldwide in RO water purification systems, Oil & Gas, petrochemical, high pressure washing and food processing. Standard products are available in appendage and flow-through designs and can be either top or bottom repairable. Designs are available in stainless steel or carbon steel.
Pulsation Dampener Applications
A Suction Dampener, installed close to the pump inlet, will reduce the potential for cavitation, extend the pump life and reduce wear on the manifold and suction valves.
Installed on the discharge side, a Discharge Dampener will attenuate pump generated pressure pulsations. This will decrease mechanical vibration and noise. Optimum pump performance can be obtained when both Suction Dampeners and Discharge Dampeners are installed to the pump inlet and discharge. Liquid Pulsation Dampeners (LPD) or Flow-through Maintenance-free suction and discharge dampener designs are also available. These LPDs are bladderless, can perform at higher pressures and handle corrosive materials.
