Bladder Surge Tank Vessels
Young Engineering Bladder Surge Tanks (BST) absorb and control surge energies, increasing the life of the components of your system.
Bladder surge tanks are large-capacity units used in applications such as water pumping stations, municipal water and fuel handling applications. Standard sizes ranges from 40 to 10,000 gallons, with design pressures of 275 and 500 psi; but can be built up to 1500 psi. Young Engineering's surge tanks are designed with supports built in accordance with UBC seismic standards. Our Surge Tanks are sized, designed, manufactured and tested in accordance with ASME and most are available with Underwriter's Laboratory (UL) Listing and Factory Mutual (FM) approval.
Horizontal and vertical bladder surge tank designs include our specially designed patented floor-plates and nozzle assemblies which allow for greater water flow while also offering maximum bladder performance.
When using hydropneumatic (air-over-liquid) tanks, air compressors are generally required to maintain air levels and can be noisy; equating to additional maintenance, regulating equipment and electrical needs, resulting in higher operating costs. Young Engineering’s bladder surge tanks are self-contained units that require no on-site air compressor.
All of Young Engineering’s products can be designed and manufactured to fit your exact specifications
