Young Engineering’s patented Bladder Sewage Surge Tank (BSST) design incorporates a patented high flow design with a perforated nozzle of the tank allowing for sewage solids to pass through the system without clogging. A Fluid connection at the top of the tank allows you to flush or clean any solid debris to the discharge piping.
The pipe in the slotted nozzle is PVC and runs the full length of the shell. At the bottom, toward the bladder, there are large slots, which allow the solids from inside the bladder to be extruded to the discharge preventing build up.
Solids can easily extrude through the slotted design, by way of pre-charge pressure and the in and out flow movement of the bladder, which forces the sewage into the discharge pipes.
Importantly, our BSSTs are self-contained units that require no on-site air compressor. Air compressors are required to maintain air levels in bladderless surge tanks can be noisy and equate to additional maintenance, regulating equipment and electrical needs, resulting in higher operating costs.
