Bladder Expansion Tanks

Bladder Expansion Tanks, often referred to as Antifreeze Tanks, Glycol Tanks, or BET's are tanks designed to absorb liquid expansion within a closed circuit.

On systems that utilize backflow preventors, over-pressure problems can occur when temperature variation (excessive heat) causes the antifreeze within the sprinkler lines to expand resulting in component damage. This over-pressurization can be alleviated with Young Engineering industrial-quality Bladder Expansion Tanks which "absorb" the expanding fluid, thereby controlling the pressure to a safe level. (all of this is explained in the Bladder Expansin Tank Movie)

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA 13) requires the use of expansion chambers in antifreeze systems which use these backflow preventors.

Young Engineering's UL approved Bladder Expansion Tanks are designed for the fire protection industry to protect anti-freeze sprinkler systems from the damaging effects of thermal expansion.

All Young Engineering’s products can be designed and manufactured to fit your exacting specifications
