Young Engineering & Manufacturing, Inc. was founded in 1987, and has proven to be a leader in the surge control market. Young Engineering surge and pulsation dampening products utilize state-of-the-art designs and are constructed in accordance with stringent quality control standards. Our 35,000 square foot manufacturing facility in San Dimas, California is an ASME approved weld shop for pressure vessel fabrication. Young Engineering holds Underwriter’s Laboratories (UL) and Factory Mutual (FM) approval for small vessels in fire suppression systems.

Young Engineering’s team of engineers has more than ten decades of experience in the field of hydraulic transient analysis (surge analysis) and mechanical design. We offer innovative custom design as well as standard model surge vessels.

Young Engineering products (bladder surge vessels and pulsation dampeners) are used in a variety of applications from fire protection and fuel handling to water, sanitation and petrochemical systems.

About Winston B. Young

Winston Young founded Young Engineering in 1987. Mr. Young is a mechanical engineer and industry expert in the field of hydraulic transients and mechanical design.

Mr. Young credits his career to his uncle who inspired him to study mechanical engineering, Mr. Young holds a bachelor's of science (BS) degree and a master's of science (MS) degree in mechanical engineering with an expertise in fluid mechanics.

Mr. Young has established a proven philosophy for the company of providing the highest quality product possible at a reasonable cost. Young Engineering and Manufacuring Inc., has demonstrated the successful application of this philosophy with crucial industry installations from crude oil handling to municipal water - installations where failure could prove catastrophic.
